Water Rights

The Ranch possesses water rights that pre-date the US Forest Service and are sufficient to meet the needs of low density residential development, including those uses which would result from domestic wells. The specific water rights attributable to each of the Ranch Homesteads are tied to the water rights of Shadow Creek Ranch. All of the Homesteads are connected into the central water system that was completed in 2002. Some Ranch Homesteads have irrigation water in the summers that flows through ditches across the property. The Association uses a significant portion of its water rights to irrigate 1,000 acres of hay meadows and pasture.
